Dear Customers,

Since Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 09:00, the entire world can log onto Expertissim.com! From New York to Singapore to Buenos Aires, you can now track, check, sell or buy your favorite appraised antiques and many other works of art around the globe with the same ease of navigation.  All our references such as furniture, jewelry, bronzes, old paintings and design objects benefit from an image viewer in high definition that is smoother and faster.

Previously, the site was based in France, neighboring connections were more in use. So for example, it took eight times more longer to consult a page for a work of art from Tokyo than in Paris! Today, the time display is the same everywhere.

To standardize our system and extend it to everyone, our developers have used the technique of “cloud computing”. It involves duplicating our content on internet servers distributed worldwide.

“Major E-commerce site”, according to Challenges

Expertissim was selected among the top 100 French online shopping websites, according to the French business publication Challenges. Challenges sorted among 70,000 online shopping websites in France. The magazine chose 100 sites among all areas of e-commerce. Expertissim was acknowledged as the reference site for the art field. A distinction which we are proud of because it recognizes the seriousness and professionalism of our site, notably being available 24 hours a day worldwide.

A new website for Expertissim was created in June in order to faithfully meet your demands. Instead of returning to the dusty chalkboard at school, we invite you to read our educational articles along with the lot descriptions by our experts so that we may guide you with your purchases and open a path through the maze of art history. You can also read these texts with their dedicated page by simply clicking on the tab “Art and You”. To complement these few highlights, we also offer a glossary. Now traditional art techniques, the major styles throughout art history and the designs and functions of the objects will be presented and no longer held as secret ! Enjoy your reading !
